A day to work

Today I thought I would treat you to my voyage to work. I was running late...AGAIN....I just can't see to get there on time, but still here goes!
The day starts with a peek at the flowers. Almost ready to go! The grass is also green 365 days a year here....YAAAY "winter"

I make my way to down Granville station! ouuuDown the scary big escalator.....I would NOT want to be down here during and earthquake
Just in time to catch the first train!!!

Heading to the Millennium line (I was on the Expo line to start)

I didn't get any photos to the Millennium line because I had to sprint to make the train or else I would have been INSANELY late for work.
You can see the mountains are losing snow...GOOD luck VANOC!Tall buildings. I love how they just stick out. I think this is Burnaby...or New Westminster...or Surrey...The Sears at Brentwood Mall. I love the old Eatons sign remnants...Sad though..

FINALLY I arrive at my stop!

To HERE!

It's a good 45 minute trip all the way out there. Luckily I have free transit for a month.
I barely recognize Vancouver now with all the Olympics stuff, I'll post some photos of regular Vancouver once the Olympics are over and you'll see what I mean. But for now...It's HOCKEY DAY IN CANADA!!!!

oh happy day

I just had the most lovely day.

The scale says I've lost weight, my clothes say it too...oh and the mirror.

I had a DELICIOUS grilled peanut butter and chocolate sandwich, a great gym workout, followed by another amazing catered dinner by Aramark, and front row seats to the flames/nucks game...which was the best game I've seen in that arena all year. AND I got paid for it! (cause it's work) This was followed by being asked to work the rest of the games graphics wise AND getting my building badge....AND being told I was spoken very high about at a potential job interview...

ALSO I have asked Ashley of Goldleaf Jewelry to design my wedding jewelery and she's EXCITINGLY said yes :D!!! I'm such a HUGE fan I can't wait to see what's she's going to make :D!!!

ANNNNND developments on the wedding dress front! Two gorgeous options are mulling about in my mind and so we'll see how those go

what a LOVELY DAY :D

selfishness

This world is FULL of it. People are always concerned about themselves, looking out for number one. Making decisions that are only best for themselves with absolutely no regard or care for how others might be affected

What would happen if for an instant they thought about someone else? About how their actions and decisions affect someone other than themselves. Took the time to care about other people and how their lives would be affected by their selfish acts and proceeded to make a decision that wouldn't be selfish and would be a lot more loving and caring.

That's my challenge. Go out into the world today and think about everyone else. Be considerate of the world around you and forget about yourself for ONE day. I know I can do it.

resolution 09

you wish you'd stuck with. (You know, there's always next year...)

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hmmm...I don't really make resolutions, not sure the point....

A common one for me is weight loss...I always want to lose weight and now with the wedding I'm especially motivated. I got a Wii Fit last Christmas and spent the winter using it. When it got nice out I started my running class which I did until June, kept up running during the summer, and after I moved to Vancouver I signed up for another class, and got a gym membership.
I also got an app for my itouch that tracks what I eat. It helps me recognize when I'm eating junk and how to limit it. I think it's been making a difference, but we'll see what 2010 brings!!

I can't believe it's the end of the challenge!!! and I did the whole thing :D

ad 09

What advertisement made you think this year?

This ad drove me NUTS

The FUNNEST!? EXCUSE ME!?

now correct me if I'm wrong.....so I hopped over to Dictionary.com

funnest

- no dictionary results

geee....so here Apple goes making up words for its ads?! Exactly who is this ad targeted to other than morons and 4 year olds!?

FUNNEST!?

How about the best ipod ever, or the coolest ipod ever. FUNNEST

what idiot ad exec thought that was a word....and then how many other people went along with it.

It's infuriating when you are an intelligent person who knows that funnest and irregardless are not words....ARHG

It made me realize that Apple thinks the gen pop are allll a bunch of stupids....and you know what....they're right.

best laugh 09

What was your biggest belly laugh of the year?

David and I have a lot of these. We're funny people....that do weird things. But the biggest one would have to be the night we went out to Bear Mountain arena for the curling tournament. I assumed (logically) that Bear Mountain Arena would be on Bear Mountain.....so we drove ALLLL the way up it only to find the resort. So after a quick call to the sports guy at CHEK, we started off to the actual arena....no where NEAR the mountain.

It's hard to recall exactly what we were laughing about....but it lasted SO long....from the entrance till long after we had parked the car....lots of tears and hurt abs...whatever it was..it was hilarious
